Day 7: Manga Series that Deserve an Anime Adaptation

T-Na

Nothing makes me so overjoy than knowing that my favorite manga is going to have an anime/life-action adaption. It doesn't matter if I've already re-read it like 20x, I can still sit and watch it without skipping anything. It's just something about seeing and hearing your favorite characters come alive on screen is so magical. I honestly won't mind fillers at all (unless it's an action type like Bleach or Naruto) because fillers are something new and I appreciate a few side stories if it mean more screen time for my favorite characters. Surprisingly, many of my favorite manga are already made into anime. For example:

Akatsuki no Yona
Nanatsu no Taizai
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso
Terra Formars
Tokyo Ghoul
Ansatsu Kyoushitsu
Skip Beat!
There are only a few manga left that I'm still waiting for anime adaption.
1. Oresama Teacher -- This is hilarious! It's from the creator of Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun. I love the mangaka's sense of humor. It's kind of idiotic but funny regardless. All the characters are wacky and adorable. Not sure if I would consider this a reverse-harem, though there is 1 girl surrounded by many hotshots
Oresama Teacher - Ridiculously funny

~Kurosaki Mafuyu was a juvenile delinquent and head of her gang before her subsequent arrest got her expelled from high school. Now that she’s transferred to a new high school, she’s determined to become an “ultra-shiny, super feminine high-school student.” But with a new friend like Hayasaka-kun and a homeroom teacher like Saeki Takaomi (who may be more than he seems), will Mafuyu really be able to live a girly-girl high-school life!?~(Source: MangaUpdates)
2. Liar Game - Art & Story by Kaitani Shinobu. This has to be one of the best psychological manga that is related to gambling ever! Characters are all super cool and the games setup are so unique. I had to re-read some chapters a few time to understand what just happened. *There's a Japanese live-action drama and there will be a Korean remake for 2015*
If you don't pay close attention, you'll get confuse very quickly!

~Wishing she would live up to the ideal, Kanzaki Nao's father named her thusly for "honesty." Nao has more than lived up to her father's wishes—even exceeding them and earning the label of "a foolishly honest girl." This makes Nao the least qualified candidate for the high stakes "Liar Game," where winning requires deceiving the opponent out of their money and losing means receiving massive debt; however, that doesn't stop a box containing a hundred million yen in cash and a card informing her of her participation in the game from arriving at her doorstep, nor does it stop her from being promptly tricked out of the entire sum of money. Upon hearing that a genius swindler, responsible for the bankruptcy of a major corporation, is being released from jail, Nao goes to the swindler, Shinichi Akiyama, to enlist his help. With that, the two are drawn into the dark, greed-filled, and deceptive world of the Liar Game.~ (Source: MyAnimeList)
3. Gakuen Babysitters - Art & Story by Tokeino Hari. Omigosh!! Those little babies are sooooo freaking adorable! I just want to see them on screen *kkkyyyyaaaa!!!!* *Ahem* It's about 2 brothers, Ryuuichi and Kotarou and how they cope with a new environment after their parents were killed in a plane crash. Ryuuichi ends up working in his school's day care center...full with cute babies that will melt your hearts!!

~After their parents are killed in a plane crash, Ryuuichi and his younger brother Kotarou are taken in by the chairman, who they never met before, of an elite academy. Ryuuichi becomes the school daycare's new babysitter.~

Tedwin

So for me, not every manga I enjoyed reading deserved to be animated. My reasoning is that some mangas are better off enjoyed in paperback. So I disagree with T-Na about animating Liar Game. Don't get me wrong, it is a great series...really different and fresh and the games played is quite ingenious. There is some truth to ideals...but it is biased because of my personally experience, let me break it down to you guys.....

There are some existing series that are heavily dialogue with a strong storyline but progresses quite slowly. In addition to that, there is minimum action/thrilling and humor scenes . Thus, the series is quite dry but interestingly and super serious. However, I feel like it can ruin ppl's experience of the series if viewed on the big screen.

For example, I watched Monster by Naoki Urasawa...it is an amazing series but it was dreadfully slow getting through it. I was so bored in the 20s episode...I had to drop it.

~Dr. Kenzo Tenma is a renowned young brain surgeon of Japanese descent working in Europe. Highly lauded by his peers as one of the great young minds that will revolutionize the field, he is blessed with a beautiful fiancé and is on the cusp of a high promotion in the hospital he works at. However, all of that is about to change with one critical decision that Dr. Tenma faces one night—whether to save the life of a young child or that of the town's mayor. Despite being pressured by his superiors to perform surgery on the mayor, his morals force him to perform the surgery on the young child, saving his life and forfeiting the mayor's. All of a sudden, Dr. Tenma's world is turned upside down by his decision leading to the loss of everything he previously had. A doctor is taught to believe that all life is equal; however, when a series of murders occur in the vicinity of Dr. Tenma, all of the evidence pointing to the young child who he saved, Tenma's beliefs are shaken.

Naoki Urasawa's Monster is a tale full of mystery, suspense and intrigue as Dr. Tenma journeys to find out the true identity of the young child. In turn, the fate of the world may depend on it.~

However, I will one day will just read the manga version of this series. Reason is that one can progress through the story quicker based on the pace of the reader unlike being restricted with the anime episodes. As a result, one wouldn't be bored as quickly.
So moving on, successful adaptation has to be series that has a strong plot with adequate action/thrills and humor! So I list below 3 strong candidates that I believe would be awesome to see as Anime.
1. 7 Seeds. Post-apocalypse settling with a huge cast of deep characters. Their journey and growth in themselves and others makes this one of the best stories ever told. It has a rough josei art style that adds to the seriousness of the story but it is not in anyway boring.

~Scientists had predicted this disaster, and in response, the leaders of every country met to develop a plan for human survival before the meteor hit. The Seven Seeds project was developed out of this meeting. Each country froze a number of young healthy people, which allowed them to survive the meteor. After the computer determined that Earth was once again safe for human life, it released them into the world.

The Japanese government created five groups of survivors: Winter group, Spring group, Summer group A, Summer group B, and Fall group. Each group consisted of seven members and one guide. The guide carried small tubes of poison on their necks to allow them to end their lives if their situation became unbearable. The Japanese government prepared seven "Fuji" as refuges for the groups. In each Fuji, the group would find seeds and numerous books instructing them on survival in the wilderness.~

2. I Am a Hero. Another post-apocalypse but with zombies. You know you can't say no to zombies~ ;)  A realistic artwork with amazing details. The psych of the main protagonist is something refreshing compared to other similar titles; always interesting to the point of no return. Of course, gore is of abundance and with grotesque creatures....beware, you will have nightmares....or tendencies to prepare for a zombie apocalypse >:D
am a Hero #6 (Carlsen Manga)
~Hideo Suzuki is a thirty-five year old mangaka assistant struggling to be the hero in his own life by breaking back into the lime light with a new serial all the while juggling his relationship with his girlfriend and his own delusions.

However, as hard as Hideo may try, the world seems to have a different set of plans for him; sinister and dark machinations that completely overturn his reality as he knows it.~

 2. 20th Century Boys. Once again, a Masterpiece by Naoki Urasawa. This series however is exciting throughout with a large cast whose story is depicted for 2 generations. One must pay special mind to the story, small details matter and the revelation is just mind-blowing. A must read...and hopefully one day, a must watch! A live-action trilogy is made for those who couldn't wait for the anime LOL.

~Humanity, having faced extinction at the end of the 20th century, would not have entered the new millennium if it weren't for them. In 1969, during their youth, they created a symbol. In 1997, as the coming disaster slowly starts to unfold, that symbol returns. This is the story of a group of boys who try to save the world.

For Kenji, a simple convenience store manager who once dreamed of becoming a rock 'n' roll musician, a host of memories from his past come rushing back when one of his childhood friends mysteriously commits suicide. Could this new death be related to the rise of a bizarre new cult that's been implicated in several other murders and disappearances? Determined to dig deeper, Kenji reunites with some of his old buddies in the hope of learning the truth behind it all.~ (Source: Viz)
